Radiator flushing is normally completed by carrying out a power flush or sometimes by a chemical flush. Our Ewell Radiator and power flushing experts can advise you on the best course of action. If you have a noisy heating system, cold radiators or repeated pump failure it is quite likely that your system needs a power flush. A Powerflush can take from 3/4 of a day up to 2 days for a large system, when we power flush your radiators we will drain your heating system, connect our machine normally to the pump connections then refill. We will circulate strong chemicals through your system with the boiler on and radiators turned off. A Powerflush is most effective with your central heating boiler running, the heat helps the chemicals to clean the pipework and radiators, quite often when completing a powerflush our trained gas engineers will service your central heating boiler and check your controls. It is important that all your radiator valves are functioning correctly when a powerflush is being completed. This will enable the central heating radiators to be isolated once the particular radiator is working correctly. Once the main pipework has been cleaned we will then carry out individual radiator flushing, this will be repeated until the system is clean. Once your system is clean we will refit the pump, presurise the system and check for leaks. Once we have checked this we will then balance the radiators until each is a good temperature. Powerflushing and radiator flushing in Ewell is best left to the experts and it is best to check if your system is actually sludged up. If you have a boiler fault sometimes companies recommend a power flush without looking into the boiler fault which may not be related. It is best to get a second opinion if a company offers you a powerflush, in our experience it can be relating to a faulty pump or sticking thermostatic radiator valves. If your pipework is completly blocked it may require replacement as a powerflush will not be possible to clear a complete blockage. However sometimes our highly trained heating engineer may decide that a simple chemical flush of your heating system maybe all it needs.
