Green energy means the sources of energy that are considered to be environmentally friendly and non-polluting, such as solar power, hydro power, geothermal, and wind energy. These sources of energy may provide a remedy to the alleged effects of global warming and help reduce the impacts of conventional electricity generation on the environment and so also increase our nation's energy independence.
Of all the energy sources in use today, solar energy possibly has the most potential for solving world's long term energy problems. It is the cleanest form of renewable energy; producing zero carbon dioxide or methane emissions into the atmosphere (so no green house effect and consequently helping in reducing Global Warming). It provides over 35,000 times the total amount of energy that humans use every day.
Many applications exist for harnessing this energy for home use such as heating and cooling, lighting, and even complete solar home solutions. As the price of crude oil escalates, and the demand for alternative energy sources increase, advancements in technology and government programs are making it easier and more affordable to install solar energy equipment at homes.

WORCESTER BOSCH GREENSKIES SOLAR PANELS:
Worcester Bosch launched its new solar water heating solution - the Worcester Greenskies FK240 Solar Panels. Greenskies complements the existing heating systems, with a typical well sized solar system providing around half of the domestic hot water requirements of a home over a year, which represents a worthwhile saving on hot water heating costs. The contribution should reach 80-90% during the summer months, 40-50% during spring and autumn and approximately 20-30% during winter.
Extremely quick and easy to install, the most common system uses a twin coil cylinder which is fed by both a boiler and the solar panels. The panels on the roof take in the energy from the sun and work through daylight hours even in cloudy weather, thanks to a
through daylight hours even in cloudy weather, thanks to a special coating which increases the energy absorbed into the pipework of the panels. The pipework contains a mixture of glycol and water, which is circulated by a pump to the coil in the hot water storage cylinder to heat the water.
The solar panels can be fixed on a tilted roof or, by using a support kit to tilt the panels, they can also be installed on flat roofs. A boiler or other heat source will still be required to work alongside the solar system, but overall usage of the boiler will be reduced, thereby cutting the households' Carbon dioxide emissions.
