Gas Safety Check & Cooker Installations

Gas leaks can be a dangerous occurrence in any home. A gas safety check is at the top of the list of priorities when you are getting, for example, a gas cooker installation or anything involving the replacement or reorientation of gas pipes and appliances that use gas. Just because the supply has been cut off, it does not mean that there is not still a danger of leakage due to faulty or corroded parts, or from other appliances and pipes that have not been fitted correctly on previous occasions. Even if you cannot actually smell the gas, it can still be there, accumulating, so it is best to be certain that everything is sealed correctly with a thorough gas safety check.

As an experienced plumber, I have come across some shoddy work in my time when involved with the likes of gas cooker installation and other kitchen plumbing, as well as in general work on the heating system and faulty appliances in the house. A gas safety check involves turning off the gas supply and then using sensitive pieces of equipment to detect any leaks that could have negative implications for household safety, as well as for energy efficiency that could affect your heating bills. A gas safety check is usually quick to perform, but once completed, we will know that we are dealing with a safe and sealed system, and can confidently proceed with the work that needs to be done.
