Drain the Boiler Expansion Tank

There are two basic types of hot water boiler expansion tanks. There is the older style large horizontal steel tank and the newer style smaller diaphragm tank (shown in photo above).
In older boiler systems the steel expansion tank may be found in the attic or suspended between joists in the basement. In newer systems the diaphragm expansion tank may be attached to the boiler piping near the boiler. The expansion tank must be properly charged with air to prevent water in the system from boiling and exceeding the desired 12 psi of pressure.

When pipe lining not possible

Sometimes a pipe is in such bad condition that modern sewer pipe lining is not possible. Examples would be when extensive sections of the pipe are partially collapsed which is common for Orangeburg pipe, or large sections of pipe are missing which is common for cast iron pipe, or a customer is unfamiliar with pipe re-lining, which is the more modern method used in trenchless pipe rehabilitation. In such cases pipe bursting technology is used.

Best Manhole Rehabilitation

So I was doing my usual weekly shopping at my local supermarket yesterday and had one of the most hypocritical experiences of my life. My household consists of my water guzzling boyfriend and my forever pooping cat. Needless to say, I go through 5-6 gallons of water and a 10lb box of cat litter a week. So on my weekly excursion, I picked up the necessary items amongst other things and proceeded to the self-checkout. While I was checking out & bagging, I broke out the brown paper bag to use in addition to the plastic one for easier transport. The lady behind me started huffing & puffing; rolling her eyes.
